"iderman"

Jonathan is talking so much right now. One thing that he says that I find so cute is "iderman" for spider-man. This kid has a lot of spider-man stuff. He has toys and clothes pretty much since he was born. He was spider-man last year for Halloween. Yes, I am the one that really likes spider-man, but I think I've got him trained. If he is wearing his spider-man pjs and you ask him who is on his shirt he looks down and says "iderman". Same with almost anything else spider-man. It is so cute. Here are a few pics of him showing of his spider-man pjs.

Now this pic shows what some of my seminary students taught him. He puts his hands on his face and wiggles them. The boys in my seminary class also taught him how to knuckle bump. Jonathan's loves everyone coming over every morning just to see him (or so he thinks).

And here is just one more of my cute boy.

This year for Halloween, Jonathan is going to be Batman (Mike's favorite super hero) so we have started to train him to like batman as well. So far he still favors spider-man, but he is getting close to actually saying batman when we show him the costume. He is not really into wearing the mask or cape yet, so we are still working on that.

random stuff

Just thought I would post an update on random stuff and will add some new pics as well. I decided our family picture is outdated so I took it off the blog. I wouldn't mind getting a candid family picture, but I always seem to be the one with the camera taking the pictures, so it might have to be planned.

This week has been kind of lazy. Mike decided that he wanted to take a week off of school stuff, so even though he still has had to teach, he hasn't worried this week on starting his dissertation. It has been nice having him home in the afternoons. Tomorrow we are planning to go shopping as Jonathan is in need of some fall/winter clothes. Right now he has only two pair of pants. He also needs new shoes. His feet are growing fast. We picked up a some shoes at walmart for him the other day. They were size 5. We didn't really think much of it, because he has some church shoes that are size 5 that still fit well and he has a little room to grow. Well the new shoes we picked up are too tight. The shoes are a little narrow for his chubby feet. We should have tried them on first (a first time mom mistake, I guess).

I don't think I posted about Jonathan's black eye. About a month ago, Jonathan was running (he loves to run) and he ran into me and fell down and smacked his face on a chair. He must have hit right on his eye, because he developed a nice little black eye. Here is a pic.

It has pretty much healed now. The new pic of Jonathan to the right is one I took today. He still has a little bit of red in the corner, but it is pretty much gone. I want to get his 18 month pictures done soon, so he needs to last a little while with no bumps or bruises to the face.

Here are a few more pics for fun.
Jonathan had a friend (Henry) come over to play for a short time today.

And here is a pic of an awesome spider web we found attached to the outside of our house the other day. Yes, that is the spider in the middle. I wanted to get a close up picture of the spider, but he was playing dead so he didn't really look that cool, close up. I saw him crawling up the web later and he was a big spider. We haven't seen the spider for a few days, so we think a bird must have gotten him. Mike destroyed the web.
