Happy Birthday JR!!!!

My baby big boy turned 3 on March 15th. He was so excited to turn 3. On the day of his birthday party he told us “I’m growing big”. I am amazed with him everyday. He really is growing so fast. He had a check up this month and he weighs 32 lb and is 39 inches tall. There are so many things he can do, it's hard to keep track of everything. He has known the alphabet for awhile, but he has started to recognize most of the lower case letters and started to learn the letter sounds. He knows shapes and colors, and he is pretty good at doing puzzles. He talks really well, but many people don't know it, because he still has a shy personality around people he doesn't know well. He can run really fast and can throw a ball far and with good aim. He has an awesome imagination. Some of his favorite things are:

Tackling daddy, Singing, Playing cars, Garbage trucks, Backhoes, Being outside, Riding his scooter, Listening to music, Cutting paper, Phineas and Ferb

His favorite color right now is red. Before his birthday we kept asking him what he wanted and all he told us was he wanted a red cake and to blow out candles. He never would let us know any toys he wanted or anything. He just wanted a red birthday. We have JR blowing out his candles on video. I still need to download it off the camera, so will have to post it another day. Thanks to all the family and friends who sent gifts. JR loved everything.

Here are some pictures from the day.

I hope

I hope that today somewhere, two little kids are waking up and realizing today is their birthday. I hope they are excited for a birthday party that has been planned. I hope they get to have fun and be made to feel special. I hope that they get to have cake and ice cream and blow out candles after everyone sings to them. I hope they get to play games and open presents, and I hope they are spoiled with all the gifts they receive. I hope they go to bed tonight feeling what a great day their birthday was and how fun it is be a kid. I hope they are excited about growing older and learning new things and living life.

I hope they feel safe wherever they are and that their needs are taken care of on a daily basis and they know they are loved.

That is my hope for today.

Happy Birthday to the children who were almost mine. Even though I never got to meet you, you will always have a place in my heart and in our family.
