Okay, so I know I need to post about JR's b-day. But I have not downloaded the pictures yet, so that will have to wait for another day. Instead I thought I would give everyone out there an update on Mike's job seeking. Now that we live close to family and we see everyone often. I forget there are some people out there, that read the blog, that I might not talk to very much, that may be curious what is happening in our lives. So if you didn't already know, Mike was able to get on with
SLCC in the spring semester as an adjunct professor. So thankfully we have had a little bit of income. He is currently teaching 3 classes and we are so very grateful for that, although he of course needs a full-time, permanent job. He was also told by his old advisor at
Westminster college that he can teach adjunct at Westminster starting in the fall if he needs to. Of course we hope he has a full-time job by then, but if not at least we know he can do that as well.
Mike continues to search job boards and apply for jobs that he qualifies for, unfortunately the jobs listing are sparse this season. It seems to be worse than last season. He has applied to quite a few, all over the country (I think I posted about this before) and has to date only received one rejection letter. One school that he applied to is
Snow College. This is a small 2-year college that is located in a tiny, tiny (smaller than Starkville) town in Utah. About 2 hours a way from SL. Today he has an interview there, and of course we are hoping that this turns into a job offer. It would be great to still live in Utah. However much I might of hoped for a warmer climate (this winter has almost killed me).
We are also trying to sell our house in Mississippi. We finally had an offer and we thought everything was going well, but then the buyer was unable to secure a loan, so it fell through. We are also really hoping and praying that our house sells soon as well. Will try to keep everyone informed on how everything turns out.
