Jokes

The boys love to tell jokes right now here are a couple.

JR: What do you get when you cross bacon and chips?
Me: What?
JR: Bacon chips (laughs hysterically) get it?

(How can you not laugh to that)

AJ: What do you get when you cross a banana and a strawberry?
Me: What?
AJ: Cheese.

(Cheese is the answer to all of AJ's jokes)

No more pacis

About a week before AJ turned 3, we were talking to him about his pacis.  He had 3 and 2 of them were kind of broken, but he could still suck on them.  One was still okay.  I asked him if he wanted to cut up the broken ones.  He was really excited about it, and said yes (he loves to cut stuff up). So I let him.  Then he told me he wanted to cut up his green paci (the one good one).  I was a little hesitant to let him at first.  I thought he would want to have it at least to help him sleep.  But he assured me that he was big now, and that he didn't need it.  I decided that if he was this excited about it, I should just let him do it, before he changed his mind. When it was time for bed that night, he had a hard time and we had a rough week after that, but there was no going back, and because he chose to do it, I think he understood that, at least a little.  He is doing great now without his pacis and sleeps through the night with no problem. (When JR gave up his pacis, he stopped sleeping through the night). I can't believe how big he is getting.  I have seen him suck his sister's paci from time to time, but he does it more as a joke than anything, lol.

Happy 3rd Birthday AJ!!!

Can't believe my little man is 3.  We celebrated by letting him open presents first thing in the morning.  Then later we went to truck day at the library.  That was not too much fun for AJ, because although he loves trucks he hates loud noises, and he was freaked out by all the honking horns and sirens.  But we got through it and JR had a blast.  For dinner we let him choose where we would go and he wanted McDonalds.  After dinner we came home and had alien cupcakes and ice cream. The next day (Sunday) which was his actual birthday, we brought mini cupcakes to share in nursery, and he chose to have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.  He is getting so big.  He decided on his own to give up his paci (I will post about that later), so he really is not a baby anymore.

Showing me how old he is.
