Library

It is weird going to story-time without JR, but so far AJ and Annie have loved it.   We have gone twice since school started.  Annie likes walking around and looking cute for everyone as she checks everything out and AJ loves the stories, the craft, and of course the goldfish, cookies and juice they always get for a snack.  I never bring the camera, but sometimes pictures are taken at the library and posted on facebook, I try to grab them whenever I see a pictures of one of my kids on there.  Today Annie was climbing on the shelves where they keep toys and I just had to get it on camera so I took a few shots with the phone.  Here are some pics from the last couple of trips to the library.

Looking cute with a plug in the mouth for the camera.

Working hard on coloring

Hey lady, do you really need to keep following me with that camera.

I told you I could get in here.

Now, if only I can sit up.

Laying down always works.

Conversation with AJ this morning

AJ: Everyone has different skin color.
Me: That's right
AJ: I have skin. Do you have skin?
Me: Yep.
AJ: What color is your skin?
Me: What color do you think it is?
AJ: Yellow and brown.
Me: That sounds about right.
AJ: Your skin has brown spots.

Want to add one more.

AJ: Mom, look at what Annie is doing.
Me: What is she doing?
AJ: She is trying to bug me.

First day of school!

JR's first day of school was yesterday.  I think he was a little nervous but he wouldn't admit it.  He had a good day and everything thing went well.  I didn't even cry, I knew he wouldn't.  I have been crying for almost a week, just thinking about him going to school.  So Mike gave me a priesthood blessing, along with JR and the other kiddos for FHE last monday.  I am so grateful for the priesthood, and for Mike who is worthy to hold it and use it.  I have had no anxiety about JR going to school since then.  The thing that drives me crazy during the day is waiting for 3:40 pm to come, so we can go meet him at the bus.  It seems likes it takes forever to get here, and it seems like he is gone for so long during the day.  I really don't know why they think kindergarteners need to have a full day of school.  I asked him what he did on his first day and he told me they learned a new song. Of course they did other things, but all I can think about is, why do you have to go to school for 7 hours so you can learn a new song.  I obviously miss him while he is not here, but I know this is all about growing up and it is good for him.  AJ has been doing good at home without his brother, but right now it's a novelty.  He can play with JR's legos and not have to share as much, although Annie torments him at times, but I think he will soon discover how much he misses his big brother being home during the day.

So glad I got to meet you 6 years ago. Even though you will never know I held you in my arms when you were 1 day old, I will never forget.
