Literacy Bell

JR was able to ring the literacy bell at the library.  This is something they do when a child can read a book to the librarian all by themselves.  He went to the library with the school librarian and about 20 other kids from the school.  It happened to be a day when Mike was not teaching, so we were all able to go and see him ring the bell.  There were 3 other schools there at the same time.  Before they started they asked the kids how many of them were first graders.  Most of the kids raised their hands.  Then they asked the kindergarteners to stand.  JR and about 5 or 6 more kids stood.  I was so proud of my little guy, he really has done great with reading and I can't believe how quickly he has picked it up.  Below are some pictures from the event.

Ronald McDonald was there for a quick show and they also got to eat pizza and cupcakes.
